10-1-11 PNM Employees Ride in Memory of Westbrook

About 20 people, including PNM employees, participated in the 2nd Annual Westbrook Memorial Bike Run on October 1st. The riders began in Farmington, NM rode to Durango, CO and then returned to the Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington.

The annual ride is in memory of Alan Westrbrook, who worked as an environmental process operator at PNM's San Juan Generating Station for more than 20 years. He was a sergeant in the Army National Guard when he was killed in Iraq in 2005. This year, the organizers of the event dedicated the ride to both Alan and his brother, Kenneth, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.

"We had amazing weather for the ride" said Jeremy Shelley, operations supervisor, San juan Generating Station. "Everyone had a really nice time".
