4-16-11 Silver City General Meeting

The Albuquerque Chapter of AGSM held our meeting on April 16, 2011 at the home of Mary and Tip Cowan in Silver City. This city is about 4 hours drive from Albuquerque. We try to schedule at least one meeting a year in a location other than Albuquerque because our chapter includes members from across the state of New Mexico.

Mary Cowan made this a special event by arranging for our members to tour the Fort Bayard National Historic Landmark, the Fort Bayard National Cemetery, and the veterans wing of the recently dedicated Fort Bayard Medical Center. Leading the tour were Cecilia Bell, president of the Fort Bayard Historic Preservation Society, and her husband Dr. John Bell, also a member of the FBHPS.
