American Gold Star Mothers History
In 1928 a group of mothers residing in Washington, D.C. met to make plans to organize a national organization. This group was composed of women who lost a son or daughter in World War I.
There are no honorary members. Husbands of a member maybe enrolled as an Associate member, paying no dues, holding no office, nor having a vote.
